The rural Siguatepeque Affiliate was established in 1994 and builds houses in 3 different Honduran departments. Since its inception it has helped to build over 1,108 houses and sets an annual goal of 145 houses each year.
General Information: Located in the highlands of Honduras, the city of Siguatepeque is situated at the midpoint of the Pan-American Highway and serves as a resting point. Its 60,000 residents rely on coffee, pottery, flowers, agriculture, hardwoods, and wood handcrafts as sources of income. Its name originates from the Lenca language and translates to 'Hill of Beautiful Women.' Temperatures are normally between 60-80 F, as the city is located around 4,000 ft. above sea level.
