The Santa Rosa de Copan Affiliate is a newly established affiliate in the western highlands of Honduras.  Currently the affiliate is focused on establishing committees of local volunteers, raising funds and selecting families to build houses for.  The affiliate has a construction goal of 100 new houses in 2007.

General Information:
With a population of over 42,000 people, Santa Rosa serves as an administrative and commercial center for much of the western part of
Honduras.  The city was established in the mid 18th century as the site for Spain's 'Royal Tobacco Factory.'  The wealth that was created by the tobacco factory sparked further development and Santa Rosa became a mixing point
for indigenous and European cultures.  Transportation to Santa Rose is easy as one of the most well maintained highways in Central America runs through the city.  The city sits at just over 5,000 ft. above sea level and experiences average temperatures of 60-75 F.
